Life is very complex in today's busy world. Trying to prioritize and make sure that all of your needs are met can be a big challenge and impact people's mental health.  Perfect balance is often not achievable and there are different priorities at different times is life.  Family, career, self care, friends; they are all important and knowing how to create more balance can be extremely important to reducing stress and gaining more happiness and resilience in life.  Counselling can help you find ways to create more balance and more fulfillment in life.

Wisdom is not just knowing about something, but also being able to respond in a thoughtful way rather than reacting. By knowing yourself and what is happening for you, both emotionally and physically, you can start to create patterns to help you manage the ups and downs of daily life. Often people call this coping strategies. You can find ways to help you manage strong emotions or recognize situations that can cause you to react in a poor way and become more thoughtful in your approach to yourself and others through counselling. This can be thought of as being mindful of what is happening for you and around you. Finding ways to do this can create better relationships, improve mental health, and create a more peaceful life.

Knowing your values is something that is often not talked about. Yet, research shows that if you live in alignment with your values, you will have improved mental health.  Stress and discomfort often arise when your personal values are in conflict with something that is happening around you and you are doing things that conflict with the way you want to live. We can help you uncover your values and find ways to be more in alignment with those values through counseling. This can create a life that is more fulfilling and peaceful.
